Flex Your Way

Build a (work)life blend that works for you, and your family

You know you are good at what you do.

Your years of experience don’t disappear because you stepped back, moved sideways or pressed pause.

And I bet you are frustrated because it seems like every role you find is either full-time and office-based, or part-time and miles below what you are capable of.

J, previous programme participant

"I really enjoyed the course, met a lot of very interesting and talented women… I was able to find a lovely opportunity. I started yesterday after almost 6 years off work and it was the warmest welcome I could have imagined.

And I know it’s a win win for both of us because the company will benefit from my skill set while allowing me flexible working to be with my family. I never thought I’d be able to find something that worked, was a happy environment and didn’t terrify me so thank you, thank you, thank you."

Does any of this sound familiar?

The job ads you see assume you have no other responsibilities. They might be interesting, but you don’t know how or when to ask if they could be done flexibly.

The part-time jobs are miles below your skillset and earning potential, or the flexible ones that do exist never seem to be advertised anywhere you can find them.

You have tweaked your CV more times than you can count, and still nothing lands. You are starting to wonder if flexible work at your level is a bit of a unicorn, or if you have simply been out of the game too long.

You are not asking for too much. And you don’t need fixing.

The system was never built for women fitting meaningful work around the rest of their lives, and most career advice still assumes a 9-5 with nothing else going on.

That is not a flaw in you, but the job search strategies you used before will not serve you now.

You need a new strategy.

What I have learned from 400 women and a 24k community

Over the past five years I have supported around 400 women back into flexible roles that actually use their skills, and grown the Flexible Working Scotland Facebook community to over 24,000 members.

The pattern is consistent: women who find flexible work at their level do not get there by applying into the void more often. It is not a number game; it is a game of strategy.

Women who find work that works do so with a clear plan, honest self-knowledge about what they actually need, and the right people around them.

That is what Flex Your Way is built to give you.

What past participants say

  • "I have been offered a job. I'm pretty confident that I wouldn't have applied for the post before starting this programme, but it has definitely given me confidence and opportunity to reflect on what I want to do and the aspects of work that I really enjoy... This is the most excited and optimistic that I have felt in months!"

    —Previous programme participant

  • “I took a career break of over a year to look after my child due to the high cost of childcare, and coming back to work felt quite daunting. This group has been incredibly helpful. I found so many useful tips on tailoring my CV and preparing for interviews. It's taken me about 5 months to find the right job, and if I can share one piece of advice, it would be to focus on fewer applications and make them really strong. I applied for 5 jobs, was invited to interview for all of them, and although I had to decline 2 due to personal reasons, I ended up accepting the third one I interviewed for. Thanks again to everyone who shares advice and encouragement here – it really helped me feel more confident and focused in my job search!"

    —J, Flexible Working Scotland community

  • "Big shout out to Lynn Houmdi for consistently and tirelessly creating brave spaces for women to find a way back to work or to find the courage to start a new business."

£797.

I’m not pretending that’s nothing. It’s an investment in you, your future and a (work)life blend that works for you and your family.

I also know what it costs to stay stuck: the months of scrolling, the rejections and ghosting from recruiters, the confidence that erodes with every unanswered application, the growing sense that flexible work at your level simply does not exist. And I know you have the potential to earn it back once you find work that works.

If the price feels like a stretch right now, please do not let that stop you from joining the waitlist. Depending on your circumstances, there may be ways we can support you with the cost.

The investment

Work that works does exist.

I have watched hundreds of women find it.

Not sure yet?

If you have questions about whether this is right for you, I am genuinely happy to have a conversation. This is not a high-pressure sales situation. It is an open offer for women who are ready to stop figuring this out alone.
